Spider-Man (Black Costume) Spider-Man - Classics (Toy Biz) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 After a battle against an army of super villains on an alien world left SPider-Man's costume in ruins, the web-slinger came into contact with a machine that produced a new, black costume that responded to his mental commands, shape shifting into any clothing he desired and it even created its own webbing!
After returning to Earth along side the rest of the worlds heroes, Spider-Man took back to fighting crime in the streets of New York, using his new costume to great advantage. Little does Peter Parker know, that he should have trusted his first instinct and rid himself of the costume because it is in fact alive and it is hungry.
The first wave of Spider-Man Classics brings us a remarkable and beautiful rendition of the Black Costume, a suit which has become one of his most well known...[See More]
Man-Spider Spider-Man (Toy Biz) - Animated - Series 6 Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 I got this guy years and years ago when it first came out at the local, now defunct, K-Mart. Through some miracle, I found out I still had this guy in an old toy chest with only minor damage to the paint!
Man-Spider has an impressive range of motion for a toy made in the 90's with articulated hips, knees, neck and all six arms having movable "shoulders".
The tattered costume of Spider-Man is stretched over the Man-Spider's lanky frame, drawn tight over the impressive musculature. The tears are all sculpted and not simply painted on.
Man-Spider's horrifying head is bulbous and warped with twin long orange mandibles stretching out from his mouth and ending with black fangs. A circle of red dots, presumably compound eyes, sprout from his forehead with twin red dots below them where his...[See More]
Super Patriot Legendary Comic Book Heroes (Marvel Toys) - Pitt Series Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 Most variants that we get are usually just a minor repaint and never anything expansive like a completely new sculpt. With Super Patriot, we got lucky! Instead of simply repainting the head, Toy Biz went the extra mile and gave us a brand new head and arms!
The head, instead of just the regular toy's head repainted like the American flag, is actual redone with the cybernetic lines and wires originally covering the head gone and then painted with the customary mask.
The arms have also been switched. The gun arm is now the right hand and the regular hand is his left. The left hand is a completely different design from the original right which had claws in the place of human fingers. This one is far less frightening and looks like a human hand wearing a medieval armor gauntlet. I am not a...[See More]
Emma Frost Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Annihilus Series Rated 1.50 stars by Collector1 I want to ask you all, when you buy an Emma Frost Action Figure, do you by it because you want an Emma Frost Action figure or a Joan Rivers Action Figure?! Seriously here folks, Hasbro's rendition of Emma looks more akin to Joan "Walking Cadavare" Rivers than the White Queen from the X-Men comic series.
The face is horrible done and looks nothing like her at all! Well, unless she came down with a severe case of food poisoning, then it is spot on.
her body is also far to thin. She reminds me of the Barbie toys that you would get from McDonald's Happy Meals. Not that I ever GOT a Barbie at McDonalds...moving on.
The elbows are only single hinges, but the biceps can move, but this is pretty much negated by the hard, inflexible cape she has on.
Emma Frost has a swivel torso, but no waist...[See More]
Slugslinger Transformers - Energon (Hasbro) - Powerlinx Battles - Deluxe Class Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 Let's make this good and clear, all right? This guy is a pain to transform! The hinges are what make this a truly tricky transformation and you will have to reference the instruction manual at least...five times before you can do it without them.
Slugslinger is a homage, like so many of the Energon line, to his G1 name sake and transforms into a twin nose coned Cybertronian Jet Fighter which according to all laws of aerodynamics, should not be able to get off the freaking ground!
Is paint scheme is similar to the original G1 Slugslinger but with more green and yellow...or is that orange? It's somewhere in between, I can't really tell.
The face is similar to the Batman Villain Two-Face which adds to the cool factor.
The twin nose cones become the Decepticon Seeker's legs while the...[See More]
Spider-Man (Iron) Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 2 Rated 3.50 stars by Collector1 So, one day a couple of years ago, I was strollen through Wal*Mart, looking for something that would look good on my shelves. I passed by the rack containing the Spider-Man Origins toy line. And I promptly did a spit take.
I echo Doc. Nightmare at how fast they got Iron-Spider out in toy form! And it is clearly a rush job of the highest catagory.
The figure is very slim and looks like a gymnasts body, something that fits right in with Spider-Man. The figure features a massive load of articulation with each individual finger (save the thumbs) having movement.
However, the joints are so insanely tight, I was afraid to move him to much for fear of breaking him. Only with time and carefully pulls and push did he finally loosen up, but even still, I start sweating when I try to pose this...[See More]
Flying Alien Queen Aliens (Kenner) - Series 2 Rated 5.00 stars by Collector1 All right, first thing's first...THAT'S ONE HUUUUGE B@$*^! Yes, I quoted a Rob Snidder movie, all right! I...I used to think he was kind of funny...*ahem* moving on, The Flying Alien Queen is easily on par with the Marvel Legends Unleashed 360 line in terms of size.
The detail is incredible with each bump and groove in its exo-skeletal armor to the crystal like wings on its back, this thing looks like it was pulled out of one of H.P. Lovecraft's novels. Which is fitting as the Alien designer, H.R. Grigger, created the initial designs based on Livercraft's work.
The Flying Queen lacks a lot of articulation, but you quickly forget about it when you are awed by its sheer beauty. The Queen only has a single set of arms that are long and spindly like a spiders, and are armed with long,...[See More]
Hercules Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Annihilus Series Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 Born of mortal woman, Alcmena and seared by the King of the God's, Zues, Hercules was gifted with incredible strength and endurance became a legend on the battle field as he mastered almost all forms of weaponry and became a gifted tactician.
For many years he lived on Earth and fought in countless battles until his death via a shirt coated with the poisoned blood of a Centaur he had slain. After his death, Hercules ascended to Olympus and became truly immortal.
After becoming bored with life on Olympus, Hercules descended to Earth to find a new challenge. Now, Hercules uses his mighty strength to battle the forces of evil along side the worlds greatest heroes!
Hercules stands at just under seven inches. I think its about 6 and 7/8ths inches which is perfect for him. His muscle build...[See More]
Scavage Predator Predator (Kenner) - Series 1 Rated 4.50 stars by Collector1 A memeber of a species of intergalatic hunters, The Predator's as they are called by the inhabitants of the small planet Earth, have exeptionally advanced technology which they may or may not have devoloped on their own or stole from visitors to their native world.
The technology aids them greatly in their pursute of the Ultimate Game, enabiling to cloak their pressence from the naked eye and destory even the toughest hide with shoulder mounted plasma guns. By far, the greatest weapon in the hands of the Predator's are their shear tenacity and skill in hunting even the deadlyest of prey.
This Predator comes equipped with a bolo gun, mask and battle staff mounted with a human skull. The bolo gun can be attached to the Predators waist via a clip on the rear of the gun, however, because...[See More]
Banshee Marvel Legends (Hasbro) - Annihilus Series Rated 3.50 stars by Collector1 Born in Ireland, Sean Cassidy aka Banshee is the heir to Cassidy Keep, a castle in Ireland, and a small fortune. After tragic events led to the death of his wife, Sean was forced to join the sinister group and commit various crimes until he encounters the X-Men who save his life by removing the explosive head band placed on him by Factor 3 and added them in bringing down the criminal orginization twice.
Later, he joined the New X-Men as one of the first recruits.
This action figure is the second Banshee toy to ever be produced and feautre him in a rough reproduction of the costume worn near the time of his death in the comics.
The toy features twenty five points of articulation. His ankles are what I believe to be hinges. Both his knees and elbows are double hinges while his hands are...[See More]
