Like so many Australian animals, the red kangaroo is a marsupial. The baby is born very small and stays in its mother's pouch for three-quarters of a year, drinking milk until it is large enough to survive outside the pouch.

The red kangaroo's hind legs are about ten times the size of the front limbs, letting it leap up to 16 feet and run short spurts at 31 mph. No wonder Steve needs a dirt bike to catch up with this beauty!
