SERVICE UPDATE: Presently as the post of Counselor aboard the Enterprise, Deanna Troi is half-human and half-Betazoid. As a result, her telepathic powers are somewhat limited in contrast to full Betazoids. Nevertheless, as a specialist in psychiatry and exopsychology, Counselor Troi forms an important third side in decision-making with Captain Picard and Lt. Commander Riker, especially when they are dealing with alien beings. Counselor Troi has proven herself most competent in aiding and advising the crew and the families on board the Enterprise. Likewise, Lt. Worf has found her counsel most helpful in rearing his son. The Enterprise recently fell under attack by a Klingon Bird of Prey, presumed under the control of one Dr. Soran, an alien somehow connected with an anomaly in the space-time continuum called the Nexus Ribbon. Counselor Troi's empathic powers may be crucial in solving the Enterprise's current dilemma.
