PROFILE: The primary function of the Borg is to absorb and assimilate all cultures and technology for what they perceive to be the betterment of the Universe. The Borg are not perceived as individuals, and are referred to by a hive designation number. Controlled by a hive-like central computerized mind. All Borgs think and act as one. Each Borg has interchangeable weapons and manipulation arms. Every modular manipulation and weapon array is specially designed for specific tasks. Having absorbed countless cultures, the Borg have accumulated enough technology to pose the most devastating threat to ever face the Federation. Do not try to contact or confront the Borg in any manner -- use extreme caution.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When the Borg take control of an individual, they gain instant access to all the knowledge that individual has. Case in point -- the capture and subsequent use of Captain Picard to attack the Federation. The process used by the Borg to convert individuals into Borgs can be reversed in some situations (reference: Medical Logs, Dr. Beverly Crusher).
