Philadelphia steel worker Frank Rock enlisted in the U.S. Army the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor and was assigned to the newly formed Easy Company. Rock earned a battlefield promotion to sergeant, assuming command of the combat-happy Joes of Easy Co., slogging his way through every major battle of World War II!
