Mon Julpa was the rightful ruler of Tammuz-an, but he lost his memory and his traitorous vizier disguised him as a droid, who was sold to Jann Tosh alongside R2-D2 and C-3PO. Jann found out the "droid" wasn't such and renamed him "Kez-Iban" meaning "he who has returned from death".
