A young and impressionable freedom fighter, Rand is a self-taught survivor. He has managed to live off the land and avoid capture by the Invid. He meets Scott Bernard and begins a journey of discovery which eventually leads to the destruction of the Invid strongholds and resortation of freedom for the planet. Rand is a brave fighter and a considerate friend.
