Ramon pushes his horse, Bartola, to the limit. He must catch Zorro! The chase weaves in and out of the woods ad straight into a dead end canyon. There is no escape for Zorro now. Ramon slows Bartola to a tormenting trot as he corners the defender of justice. Victory is at hand for the evil Ramon as Zorro is backed against the wall; Zorro lowers his sword in defeat. Suddenly, Zorro shakes a rattle and Bartola, who fears snakes even more than he fears Ramon, flinches! Ramon is cast high into the air - head over swollen feet - and lands in a tangled pompous pile of cactus thorns. Zorro tips his hat to the fallen Ramon and presents Bartola with a crisp apple. Zorro slips back into the night; Ramon is left rubbing his sore parts as Bartola licks his lips.
