Rebuilt with parts cannibalized from other Decepticons, Megatron rises once again to lead his army. Though the Allspark destroyed him once, he can now feel its power coursing through his circuitry. It calls him to seize his rightful place as ruler over the puny planet on which he was imprisoned and destroyed, and from which he will launch his conquest of the universe. Optimus Prime is all that stands between him and victory, and the autobot leader has done a poor job of hiding himself. At long last, Megatron knows exactly where his enemy is, and has power enough to destroy him.
Having recently seen the Voyager class version of this figure I feel cheated. Much like the previous version of his leader class body this Megatron is low on articulation. The robot mode features some moving armor plates and a "I am Megatron" audio clip. The paint is rather bland and can stand to have some major reworking done to him. The tank mode is large and slightly awkward, being totally different looking than the Voyager version, and this mode too could use with some detailing work. I have to admit I mostly bought him for the tank mode as he is basically the same in robot mode aside from his arms, one of which is pathetically short and stubby. So I was in Wal*Mart the other day and had some cash to burn, figured I pick up some more Revenge of the Fallen figures and broke down, picked up Leader Class Megatron. Let me tell you something: He's not that great. It's not a bad toy, just not that good. Megatron's alt mode is a Cybertronian tank which looks pretty impressive. It's a big, grey, hulking thing that looks like it crawled out of the mind of a mad scientist. A pair of what I'm guessing are jet thrusters are mounted on its back, which becomes his back in robot mode, and a massive turret mounts the top of the tank. When properly transformed, the turret is unmovable. A pair of wheels on each of the treds allow Megatron be to rolled about on the floor or table top pretty easily. Now on to robot mode.
