Dr. Beverly Crusher was born Beverly Howard in 2324. She married Starfleet officer Jack Crusher of the U.S.S. Stargazer in 2348, and gave birth to their son Wesley one year later. Jack died in the line of duty in 2354, under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
Crusher served her medical internship on Delos IV under the tutelage of Dr. Dalen Quaice. In 2364, she was assigned as Chief Medical Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, joined by Wesley. Crusher took a one-year leave to act as head of Starfleet Medical, then returned to the Enterprise.
Dr. Crusher is fully qualified to captain a starship during crisis. She commanded the Enterprise when the other senior officers confronted the Borg in 2367. She will serve as Chief Medical Officer on the newly commissioned U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E.
